Who We Are
The New York Teacher Resource and Technology Training Centers are professional development organizations funded yearly through a New York State grant whose purpose is to support student achievement by deepening educator knowledge and skills.
Since 1996, the Long Beach Teacher Center has provided professional development for educators at all stages of their career and helped to integrate instructional technology into their classrooms to enrich the curricula. In addition to numerous pedagogical and subject specific courses, the teacher center has created collaborating partnerships with SUNY Stony Brook and Brooklyn College to provide low cost options for teacher achievement of advanced certificates.
The Center provides additional services for district teachers including:
- Lamination of posters/worksheets
- Book binding
- Epson poster printing services
- Ellison dye cuts
- Professional resources
- Loaner technology equipment (macbook pros, projectors, digital cameras with a $150 refundable deposit against damages)
The Center is staffed by a director and secretary, and controlled by a policy board of district and community stakeholder who operate under a charter and both Education Law 316 and Commissioner's Regulations Part 81.
